Ebay is no fun anymore. I remember when a few years ago, I could spend hours on it looking for bargains and adding items to my watch list with the genuine intention of sniping.
Nowadays, after being sued in the French Court, they have made all sorts of ridiculous changes which has pretty much driven most of the sellers and the buyers away. Sellers mostly complain of having to offer paypal as a payment option and pay extra fees, hit by false disputes and not able to leave any neutral or negative (for deserving buyers) ofcourse.
Furthermore, they have placed these listing restrictions on sellers so unless they have huge feedback (in thousands, amounting obviously to huge fees to ebay), they are not able to sell branded items. As soon as you list a few, you get restrictions placed on your account and you are not able to list those for a minimum period of 30 days. It doesn't matter if you have 500+ 100% positive feedback, and when you contact the live (more like barely conscious) help, they do nothing except copy and paste responses. But you all knew that didn't you? I am just venting anyway. I have been affected by these restrictions myself. They are randomly placed or so ite seems, if you try and dispute them, they are increased to 90 day period. In the meantime, you cannot revise these listings, or relist even after the buyer has left you positive feedback.
The only way you can get around these restrictions is that you list without mentioning the brands in your titles. BUT then often they don't turn up in searches so whats the whole point of this anyway.
This is a dilemma for small sellers like me who are just starting out. While they are testing the waters and the choice of products is limited, its not worthwhile to open a website, yet! So it seems blogging is the way to go at present...
